Requirements for being to apply for the manifestation of interest

Dependent worker:

  • Have a NIF (Portuguese Taxpayer Number)
  • Have a NISS (Portuguese Social Security Number)
  • Possess an active employment contract or a valid promise of employment, or have a verifiable work relationship confirmed by a labor union, a representative of migrant communities with a seat on the Council for Migrations, or the Authority for Working Conditions.
  • Have entered the national territory legally.
  • Be registered with the social security system, unless the document provided is a valid promise of employment.

Independent work or entrepreneur:

  • Have a NIF (Portuguese Taxpayer Number)
  • Have a NISS (Portuguese Social Security Number)
  • Have established a company in accordance with the law, declared the commencement of activities to the tax and social security authorities as an individual person, or entered into a service contract for the exercise of a liberal profession.
  • Be qualified to practice an independent professional activity, where applicable.
  • Have sufficient means of subsistence.
  • When required, provide a declaration from the respective professional association stating that you meet the registration requirements.
